Term 6 Week 1 - 1st June - 5th June 2020
Hello My hard working home learners!
We hope you have had a lovely half term enjoying the sunshine and your gardens - Mrs Atherton has been enjoying her garden! I expect lots of you have been splashing and playing in your paddling pools and having water fights just like in my garden!
In term 6 myself and Mrs Atherton will be overseeing all the home learners. I will be setting your home learning each week, so that it is the same learning as the children who are in school. Mrs Atherton and I will be responding to any learning that you send in to the new home learning email address. Please show us your best learning this week and really impress us!
When you are doing your home learning this week I want you to visualise your classroom learning wall in order to help you with your English and maths activities and try and remember what your class teachers told you to include in your learning. I have given you some hints on the plan. Please show us your skills, knowledge and understanding.
Every week I will be including a cookery and outdoor activity on the plan - as most of you are aware I love outdoor learning and it is really important for your well being that you are outside as much as possible. It helps your brain to process things and keeps you healthy. Some of you might remember me reading "Your fantastic elastic brain." Listen to it again on here to remind you about how amazing your brain is when learning and processing new ideas: https://vimeo.com/160036161
I will be expecting everyone to read every day either through active learn - bug club or a book that they have at home. I will also be expecting everyone to spend 20 minutes every day on either NumBots or Times Table Rockstars. I can check who has been accessing both of these programmes each week. If you have a Nessy account please continue to use this daily as well.
We are really looking forward to seeing all of your fantastic learning - either Mrs Atherton or I will aim to respond to your learning, sent to the new home learning email address within 48 hours. We expect to receive at least one piece of English learning and one piece of maths learning each week from every child. I will state on the plan the pieces of learning that we would like to see. We will not be putting photos of home learning on the website during term 6. Reception children, please keep uploading your learning to Tapestry and then Mrs Larthe and Mrs Hutchings can see what you have been doing at home.
I will be uploading story time with Mrs Gregory on a Saturday and a Wednesday onto the new home learning page so that you can all find it and see it easily. I am reading The World’s Worst Teachers by David Walliams.
I am missing you all lots but I am looking forward to emailing you all messages once your home learning is sent to me.
Sending you some big virtual Flax hugs
