WELCOME to

Willow class on tour!

This is where the fun will begin!

I appreciate that this is a very difficult time for you and the Wonderful Willows.

I am feeling pretty sad not to be seeing them - I had so much more planned for us all.

You are now your child's new teacher!

(with a very experienced teacher doing your planning!)

Good luck everyone- you'll be amazing!

Parents are welcome to email questions or share photos of learning via the class email account at anytime.  I will aim to respond within 48 hours on weekdays, however this may be variable if I am unwell or a member of my family is unwell.

Hello My Wonderful Willows

I hope you have all enjoyed your marble jar treat this week. I look forward to hearing about it via photos and email.

It is half term next week so you have a week off from home learning. Yay!

So instead I want you to enjoy being with your family, enjoy playing in the sunshine and making lots of memories. I would love to see any photos of you enjoying your week off!

It has been a very busy week in school, as we have been redesigning classrooms and the outside area in preparation for some children returning to school. It isn't time for us to come back yet but hopefully we will get the chance to finish off our Willow year!

I will still be uploading story time with Mrs Gregory through half term so look out for it.

I miss you all but love receiving your learning and seeing your smiley faces!

Have a fun week!

Take care and stay safe

Sending lots of virtual Willow hugs

Hello My Wonderful Willows

It was soooooooooooooo lovely to speak to all of you this week. To hear your voices and to be told about your amazing activities and adventures. It was good to speak to all of your parents too and hear how hard you are all learning at home. You have all made me the happiest teacher and I am super proud of you all! Well Done!

I'm going to let you into a secret now... From the start of lockdown I have been adding marbles into our class marble jar. (which is now on my desk in my office) Every time someone has sent in a picture of their amazing home learning I have added a marble into the jar. This week I placed the last marble into the jar. (hopefully you are all cheering!) Therefore, your special challenge on your timetable this week is to have a marble jar treat at home! Congratulations Willows - a movie of your choice, popcorn and milkshakes to celebrate!

I have put together another week of exciting home learning for you and I have also included an extra timetable this week. Next week is Mental Health Awareness week and the theme for this year is Kindness.  I have attached a sheet with a variety of kindness activities on it and it would be wonderful if you could pick one or two to try and do next week at home, as an extra to your normal home learning timetable.

Look out for Story Time with Mrs Gregory

Have a fun week!

Take care and stay safe

Hello My Wonderful Willows

I hope that you are all well and enjoyed your VE day celebrations. All your cakes looked yummy and you are now all becoming expert bakers! - Well Done!

I know that you are all missing your friends and school. I am really missing you all and being in our classroom doing the job I love; teaching you!

This song from Finding Neverland called Stars came on in my car this morning when I was driving to school and I thought of all of you - My Willow Stars!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG8La7PxgO8

You are all doing a brilliant job of staying at home and keeping safe but don't forget to keep dreaming because we will all be back together at some point and I can't wait for that day!

Next week, Mrs Bennett has said that all the teachers can ring every child in their class, to see how they are and to speak to their Mum's and Dad's - I can't wait to hear all of your voices and for you to share with me what you have been doing. I am a little excited about it! So make sure you listen out for the ringing of your phone as it might be me on the other end!

I have given you some more fun activities for your home learning this week. Lots of the maths is revisiting different areas of our previous learning - so I want you to impress your Mums and Dads with how amazing you are at it! I have also put in some new subjects this week - Music and RE. Rev Greatrex has created a school worship for you all, with a creative activity. Please keep reading and using numbots or TTRS as well.

I hope that you are all enjoying story time with Mrs Gregory - I will upload the start of the next chapter on Saturday.

Have a fun week!

Take care and stay safe

Hello My Wonderful Willows

I hope you are all well - I am really missing you all lots but I love seeing your photos of you and your learning and the videos to hear your voices. Your photos are showing me that you are all growing taller. Soon you will all be taller than me! I can also see lots of gappy smiles from where you have lost teeth! Lots of milestones happening whilst we are in lockdown so please don't forget to share them with me!

I hope you have been enjoying story time with Mrs Gregory. I will be uploading another video containing chapter 2 tomorrow.

I was wondering if any of your rainbow flowers had started to grow yet? If they have I would love to see a photograph of them.

I have planned lots of fun things for you to do this week all based around the VE celebrations that should have been taking place next weekend. Hopefully you might send me some photos of how you celebrate it at home either with a picnic in your garden or lounge or a tea party. I know how much the Willows love afternoon tea and cake!

Please keep carrying out your learning at home with your Mum and Dad's. You are all doing fab! Just a reminder about Bug Club - Active Learning books - you need to click on the green bug and answer the questions at the end before it shows that you have finished a book.  We are also a week behind in the White Rose planning so please make sure you follow the links on the timetable.

Have a fun week!

Take care and stay safe

Hello My Wonderful Willows

I hope that you are all well and have been enjoying the sunshine. I have enjoyed seeing all your lovely photos and hearing your voices on the videos you have sent. It's been a busy week as I have been in school lots. Our classroom is currently having a big clean and the cleaners found loads of pencils and glue sticks (that had obviously been eaten by one of our units) when they moved it! I hear that you have all had a letter from Mrs A Gent this week setting you a mission - no doubt I have to mark it or check it or send it to her - so please email me with your completed missions and I will send them on to her.

I have attached a video explaining an activity that I will be uploading every Saturday and Wednesday as long as I am healthy and able to do so..... I think it's quite exciting!

I hope that you enjoy the story.

I have given you a selfie scavenger hunt challenge as one of your activities this week, which I hope will be good fun! I would also like to know if you have been able to follow the recipe to make the biscuits. Please keep doing your amazing learning at home - you are making me so proud with how much you are doing with your Mums and Dads.

Missing you all lots - Don't forget to send me some photographs of your home learning.

Have a fun week!

Take care and stay safe

Hello My Amazing Willows

Welcome to Term 5!

I hope you and your families are all well and that you had a wonderful Easter and didn't eat too much chocolate!

Please take a look at all the lovely photos of your home learning from last term and the video clips I have uploaded.

I have been in school during the Easter holidays looking after key worker children. I miss seeing all your lovely smiles to make my day. Our classroom is too quiet without all of your laughter in it and when this arrived last week at school; I know that there would have been a lot of excitement from all of you if you had been there......

Well Done! You all obviously impressed Mrs A Gent who was in the audience.

I wonder what she is doing during lockdown? Maybe she has a special mission to help the NHS or the government or to help create a vaccine against coronavirus.

I have sent your Mum's and Dad's an email explaining about reading books online through Active Learning. This website also has some spelling and grammar activities which I have included in your learning for this week. Please keep reading at home - I can check to see how much you are reading using this website and can allocate more books if you read the ones I have set.

Please also keep using Numbots and TTRS as I can also see how you are getting on with these activities.

Below is the timetable for this week's home learning - Please remember to work just as hard for your Mums and Dads as you would do for me at school!

Missing you all lots - Don't forget to send me some photographs of your home learning.

Have a fun week!

Take care and stay safe

Hello My Wonderful Willows

I'm missing you all so much but have seen lots of photos of your fantastic learning at home!

Well Done!

I have been in school a lot this week, but it's been really quiet without all your voices!

This morning I sat down and did my home learning and also watched the Wind in the Willows Musical filmed live in a London theatre. You can watch it for free at the moment - maybe have a theatre afternoon or evening with popcorn and watch it with your family. It's really good! It contains Resilient Rat, Mole who makes mistakes, Optimistic Otter, Thinking Toad and Better Badger...... I normally have a lot of these characters in my class!

https://www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/wind-in-the-willows-coronavirus-stream-free_51205.html

I have created an area for our English and Maths photos to go on our class page - so if you want to send a photo of your writing or maths learning I would love to see it and then be able to put it on the website for all your friends to see as well.

Below is a timetable for next week, all planned for your amazing Mum and Dad teachers - you have done a fab job this week Mums and Dads - Thank You!

Below is the link for the maths learning and the sheets you will need for this week. I raced through this learning just before the schools were closed, so that the children would have some understanding of fractions before they did it at home.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU START ON WEEK 1, LESSON 1!
