FBSA Upcoming Events in 2021
We hope to bring you the following Events from now through to the summer:
Easter Egg Hunt
The FBSA will be doing an easter egg hunt on 29th March for each class in their bubble to enjoy. Dietary requirements will of course be catered for as usual.
Second Hand Uniform Sale
We will hold another sale on Thursday 1st April. Please do come along to support us straight after school if you’re child/ren are in need of uniform for Term 5. We will be selling from behind the Picket Fence (by playground) as usual. Pre-orders are encouraged and can be directed to your class reps to help with efficiency & planning. We respectfully ask you to maintain 2m gaps if a queue forms.
We are low on most items age 9 upwards currently and have large volumes of ages 4-8 uniforms with the exception of blue polo shirts, which are in short supply & high demand across the board. If you have any unused uniform we will be happy to offload you! We regret that we are unable to accept tops without the school logo. Many thanks for your support with this.
Bags of charity shop stuff building up? PLEASE BRING THEM TO SCHOOL! This year we have registered with “Bags2School” – every Kilo of clothing/bags/shoes etc earns money and goes direct to the FBSA. Please PLEASE hold onto your unwanted items until 21st May before rushing to the charity shops.
Another local school made £900 from this scheme recently and we would be so grateful for your support with this. Bring your bags to school on Friday 21st May for the Bags2School lorry to collect that day. Every item counts…Lets make this an easy earner! Break The Rules Day (From the list!)
For 1 day only "School concede and Kids proceed!!!" Using the exclusive list of rule breaking options, children can forfeit a 50p fine and take great delight in being a rebel for a cause! Take a sneeky peek at the list to see how many rules your child/ren would like to break!
For a modest 50p "fine" per rule broken, they can paint their nails, dye their hair, swap items of uniform for mufti, drink squash and more! What's not to love about THAT?!?!

FBSA Art & Poetry Contest
After the success from last half term, we plan to run another Contest for Flax Bourton Primary School staff, children and their families. Whether family members are pre-school, Secondary, not at Flax or Adults we would love to see your creative juices flowing! Submit your final piece by Monday 7th June to email@example.com.
Each entry requires a £1 entry fee and contestants can submit a maximum of two entries each. Please make your payment on the ticket website which will be set up nearer the time. Many thanks.
Ahhh, a year of lockdown! This year the FBSA plan to put together a really special "year book-esque memoire." Using entries from the Art & Poetry Contests and any other pieces people would like to contribute, we plan to create a year's worth of memories, pictures, poems, short stories, photos and more as a valuable keepsake for the children to cherish. A visual, emotional and representational memory book of 2020-2021 - Pandemic Life for our Flax children, staff and families. Please submit your contributions by 7th June 2021 latest. For obvious reasons, if we fail to obtain enough contributions, we will sadly not be able to create this Memoire, so fingers crossed lots of you jump on board! Go on then...go and get some paper and get your ideas down!
Flax Summer Event and Raffle
Ladies and Gentlemen...pencil in Saturday 17th July on your calendars because...you are going out!
Covid permitting, we hope to hold a summer event at school this day as a little end of term gathering for families to enjoy. Think picnic/disco tent/ice creams/bar etc. We may be getting a little excited and ahead of ourselves, but we're doing it...we are dangling this carrot! An afternoon of reintroducing community vibes and family fun. Fingers are soooo tightly crossed that we can make it happen!
NB The raffle will go ahead regardless.
More information will be available next term on these events.
